I am so excited to be living in Minneapolis again after three years in Connecticut. I thought living less than three hours from The Big Apple would be awesome! I thought I would be able to go into New York City and see any Broadway show that I wanted! Little did I know how expensive it would be to go to a play or musical in New York City! The theatre ticket prices are higher, it's expensive to drive and park or take the Amtrak, let alone get a hotel for a night! Needless to say, I did not frequent Broadway while living on the East Coast. Being back in Minneapolis, I can now afford to go to a Broadway show. Not only are the Minneapolis and St. Paul ticket prices much more affordable, I don't have to take an Amtrak into the city and stay in a hotel!
I am extremely pumped that I got my Beauty and the Beast tickets for the Ordway Center for Performing Arts. (A Christmas gift so some very special people in my life...cannot say who, in case they are reading my Blog!) Beauty and the Beast is one of my all time favorite Disney movies, and has defiantly been towards the top of my list of 'must see' theatre shows. St. Paul Ordway Center Beauty and the Beast tickets are available for the following dates while Beauty and the Beast is running at the Ordway: December 15, 2009 through January 3, 2010. Ticket King has tickets for the January 2, 2010 matinee performance starting at $115 in the orchestra section row E. Beauty and the Beast tickets for the Ordway Center will be an excellent Holiday gift for those in your life, along with many others, so I would buy your Ordway Center Beauty and the Beast tickets before it's too late!
Beauty and the Beast musical tickets have been available since 1994, when the Disney film of the same name was adapted for Broadway, and Beauty and the Beast ran on Broadway through 2007, becoming the sixth-longest running production in history. The Beauty and the Beast musical was nominated for nine Tony Awards, including Best Musical and Beast Original Score. Out of those nine Tony Awards that Beauty and the Beast was nominated for, the only Tony Award that Beauty and the Beast won was for Best Costume Design.
Minneapolis and St. Paul are becoming more and more popular, it seems, as far as getting such high caliber broadway theatre shows such as Beauty and the Beast, Grease, The Lion King, etc into town, but who knows when the next time will be that Beauty and the Beast tickets are available in the Minneapolis and St. Paul area! Temple Buell Theatre Legally Blonde tickets
Legally Blonde will be taking the stage at Temple Buell Theatre in Denver from February 2 through February 14, 2010. Temple Buell Theatre Legally Blonde tickets are available right now through Ticket King!
Who doesn't love the ditsy smarts of Elle Woods, the adorable Delta Nu sister who is dumped by her boyfriend because she isn't "serious". Elle Woods goes to Harvard Law to prove him wrong. Along her journey to "win back" her beau, she discovers that she is "serious" and smart enough on her own right, and is actually too good for her former man! Our favorite Legally Blonde Elle Woods even goes on to be valedictorian of her class!
Legally Blonde the Musical is an adaptation of the 2001 novel and movie (Starring Reese Witherspoon), also named Leagally Blonde.
Legally Blonde the Musical has some great reviews, so I would buy your Legally Blonde tickets as soon as possible for the Temple Buell Theatre, so you're not left out in the cold without any tickets this February!

Spring Awakening Temple Buell Theatre tickets
The popular newer musical Spring Awakening will be playing at the Temple Buell Theatre in Denver from December 1 through December 13, 2009. Temple Buell Theatre Spring Awakening tickets are available now through Ticket King!
Spring Awakening tickets were first available for Broadway on December 10, 2006, after a Summer 2006 stint off-Broadway. Spring Awakening received eleven Tony nominations in 2007, and won 8 of those Tony Awards!
For those that do not know the plot of Spring Awakening, it is not for young children. The musical Spring Awakening's main theme is the discovery of sex in late 19th-century Germany.
I don't know who is a fan of the new TV show Glee, but the actress who plays Rachel on Glee is Lea Michele, who played Wendla, the main female character, in the original Broadway cast of Spring Awakening.

Orpheum Theatre Grease Tickets in Minneapolis going fast!
Last night was the night! I finally saw Grease on Broadway! What a charismatic night at the Orphuem Theater! It started with the character Vince Fontaine (whom I recognized as one of the earlier cast offs from the reality show "Grease, You're The One That I Want,") the fictional radio DJ from WAXX, warming up the crowd with some singing and interaction with the audience.
Once the musical Grease started, it was like I was in 1959 on the first day of school! All my favorite songs were there, like "Summer Nights," "We Go Together," and "Beauty School Dropout," staring none other than American Idol winner Taylor Hicks! Taylor Hicks fit the role quite well, with his grey hair and cheesey dance moves! I tried to get a picture of Taylor Hicks signing autographs after the show, but I realized I better buy a new digital camra, becaue the camra on my cell phone does not work in bad lighting! Sorry guys!
Another "You're The One That I Want" alum was Allie Schulz, who was third place. Allie is currently playing the tough leader of the Pink Ladies, Rizzo.
There are only a few Orpheum Theatre Grease tickets left while Grease is in Minneapolis at the Orpheum Theatre, so you better contact Ticket King soon!

Mamma Mia! tickets available for the Minneapolis Orpheum Theatre!
The popular musical Mamma Mia is coming to the Orpheum Theatre in Minneapolis. Orpheum Theatre Mamma Mia tickets are available now for Mamma Mia taking place Tuesday March 9, 2010 and running through Sunday, March 14, 2010. With only 8 scheduled performances, you want to make sure to buy your Mamma Mia tickets now to ensure you are able to buy tickets! What a wonderful Christmas gift to buy for the strong, fun-loving women in your life! (Or, if you're lucky enough to have a man in your life that enjoys theatre!)
Mamma Mia! is a musical based around the music from the popular 70's music group ABBA. Songs including "Dancing Queen," "Money, Money, Money," and "Take a Chance On Me." Mamma Mia! started on Broadway in 1999 and was adapted for the big screen with the movie out in 2008 staring Amanda Seyfried as Sophie and Meryl Streep as Donna, Sophie's mother.
Because I have seen the movie, I know the story is about a young girl, Sophie, who has never met her father, she finds her mother's diary and discovers that there are three different men that could be her father. Sophie is about to be married, and secretly invites all three men to her wedding. The story is upbeat and happy, and includes these ABBA songs that make you want to get out of your seat and dance! Donna was formerly in a music group called "The Donnas" and her two group member friends come into town for the wedding, and the three of them are a riot together.
I already have my tickets to see Mamma Mia! at the Orpheum in March! I want to make sure I don't miss Mamma Mia in Minneapolis! I'll let you know how it is!
Mary Poppins Orpheum Theatre tickets Sept 2009
While Mary Poppins has floated out of Minneapolis on her parrot head umbrella, she has dropped into other cities across the U.S. Contact Ticket King to see what city you would be able to purchase your Mary Poppins tickets for!
I was fortunate enough to get Broadway Musical Mary Poppins at the Orpheum Theatre tickets while Mary Poppins was playing in Minneapolis in September. My husband and I bought my niece Mary Poppins tickets for her 10th birthday. The look on her face when we walked into the Orpheum Theatre was completely worth the ticket cost.
Mary Poppins was the first Broadway show she's ever been to, and the first time being in a theatre that wasn't a high school auditorium, for that matter! Her face lit up when she saw the velvet chairs, huge glowing chandelier, the lit up Mary Poppins backdrop on the curtain that looked like the London rooftop skyline...she literally gasped, and it was so precious! To be able to be the person that brought that happiness to her was priceless to me! If you ever get an opportunity to bring a child to see Mary Poppins on Broadway, I highly recommend you do it!
The Broadway version of Mary Poppins is both very similar to the movie version with Julie Andrews, but also has some very different parts from the movie. While I didn't like the new area of the story they fit "Supercalifragilisticexpialidocious", I did really enjoy the new take on the song. The song was very similar, but had an added extension to the song where the cast all spell out the word and have hand movements along with it. It was rather spectacular! My favorite part of the whole Mary Poppins musical was the part where they are on the London rooftops with all the chimney sweeps. This is my favorite part in the movie, and I was impressed with how well they were able to keep the scene similar to the movie, considering it's live on a stage instead of being able to use the trickery possible with movies. At one point, Burt walked sideways up one side of the stage, upside down across the top of the stage, and then sideways back down the other side of the stage. At the end, Mary Poppins actually floated off the stage with her umbrella, over the crowd! It was quite amazing for me and my niece alike!
I will update you on upcoming theatre events good for adults and children! Keep your eye on Ticket King Theatre to ensure you're seeing all the big theatre events that come to the Minneapolis/St. Paul area!

Trans-Siberian Orchestra tickets still available across the U.S.!
I know, I know, Trans-Siberian Orchestra is NOT a theatre event. BUT, I was fortunate enough to get Trans-Siberian Orchestra tickets when TSO was in Minneapolis this past Saturday--and TSO WAS dramatic (as can be proven by the picture of some TSO members playing while being lifted up with a hover-craft type deal)!
Our seats for Trans-Siberian Orchestra were so awesome, we felt right in the action! If you have not seen TSO before, I highly suggest you contact Ticket King right now to find Trans-Siberian Orchestra tickets! If Trans-Siberian tickets are no longer available for your city because they already have been to your area, be sure to mark your calender for next year! Seeing Trans Siberian Orchestra in concert is a great way to get into the holiday spirit!
Trans-Siberian Orchestra played for nearly 3 hours! The first part of the evening is a Christmas story which is narrated by a man with a soothing voice, with songs in between the story, which TSO themselves describes as Rock Opera. The songs have a metal-spin to them, with crazy violin players running around, about a dozen local strings players, and metal guitarists. The songs include well known Christmas Carols such as "O Holy Night", "Angels We Have Heard on High", and "O, Come All Ye Faithful" and "Christmas Canon" which is a cover of Johann Pachelbel's famous Canon in D Major, with lyrics added.
In addition to all the music happening, Trans-Siberian Orchestra has lasers, lights, pyrotechnics and video screens galore! The second part of the TSO performance includes their own songs synchronized with their performance with the lights, lasers and pyrotechnics.
Do you remember the beer ad from a few years ago? Where the house with tons of Christmas lights on it, had the lights going in time to the music? That was a TSO song called "Wizards In Winter"
My favorite moment of the whole show is when one of the female vocalists sang "Queen of the Winter Night". She did an amazing job!
Minneapolis Orpheum Theatre Grease tickets available-GREASE is the word!
Hey Minnesota! The Broadway theatre show Grease is coming to Minneapolis and it starts TOMORROW! Grease will be running at the Orpheum Theatre starting on Wednesday November 18th through Sunday November 22nd, for a total of seven shows only! I don't know about YOU, but I've been looking forward to seeing the Broadway show Grease for a few years! I had Grease tickets to see Grease in New York back in 2007, but my Grease show performance was canceled due to the Broadway Strike that year! Now Grease is in Minneapolis, and I'm going (as long as there are no un-for-seen circumstances in the next two days! :-)
Taylor Hicks, winner of American Idol Season 5, plays "Teen Angel" in Grease! You won't want to miss this opportunity!
Grease tickets are going fast, and Ticket King only has tickets available for a few of the performances of Grease, so you better get your tickets NOW if you plan to see Grease while it is in Minneapolis! Tickets start at $135 per ticket for Main Floor tickets for Grease! I don't have as good of seats as sitting in the first few rows on the Main Floor, but I did upgrade myself from my usual seats in the last row to one of the first few rows in the Balcony. Anywhere you sit in the Orpheum Theatre is a good seat, but it's fun to get closer to the action once in a while!
I have loved the movie Grease as long as I can remember, and I watched the show Grease "You're The One That I Want" a few years ago. Do you remember that show? It was a reality series that let America pick who would play the parts of Sandy and Danny in the Broadway version of Grease! When Grease hit Broadway in August 2007, the winners of the Grease reality series, Laura Osnes and Max Crumm played Sandy and Danny. Laura Osnes is a Minnesota native, and was playing Sandy in the Chanhassen Dinner Theatre Grease production, before quitting to compete in the TV Show, clearly that worked out in her favor.
As you may be able to tell, I am extremely excited to finally see Grease on Broadway at the Orpheum Theatre this week! I hope you've bought your Orpheum Theatre Grease tickets already! If not, give us a call over here at Ticket King!
